Devoted to the band’s extraordinary story, this is the film on which French directors Renaud Barret and Florent de la Tullaye (aka Belle Kinoise) have been working on for the past 5 years, ever since they encountered the band in Kinshasa.
The film shows the band’s journey from the sidewalks of Kinshasa to the stages of large European concert halls and festivals, and features performances of many songs from Staff’s popular “Très Très Fort” cd album, which came out last year on Crammed Discs (and has just won Staff Benda Bilili the Songlines Award for “Best Group of 2010″).
Staff Benda Bilili attended the premiere (on the opening night of the prestigious Quinzaine des Réalisateurs (Directors’ Fortnight) at Cannes), and performed a show at the Quinzaine party after the screening. The band will be staying in Cannes for several days, and worldwide media are already conducting dozens of interviews with them.

für ein Konzert wollte ich via Internet bei Ihnen Karten bestellen. Nachdem ich schon alle Daten eingegeben hatte, entdeckte ich, dass es sich um eine “nicht sichere Seite” handelt. Zudem meldete Firefox zusätzliche Risiken auf der Seite. – Also habe ich nicht bestellt und alles gelöscht. Bitte sorgen Sie doch dafür, dass Sie zukünftig eien sichere Verbindung anbieten. Ich wohne etwas weiter weg, und daher ist es für mich lästig, die Kartenvorverkaufsstellen aufzusuchen.

ich plane nächstes JAHR IM rahmen einer “interkulturellen Woche” eine Ausstellung mit meinen Bildern, die sich mit dem Thema “Migration” auseinandersetzen. Gerne würde ich anstelle einer üblichen Vernissage den film “Benta Bilili” zeigen. ist es möglich, eine Kopie davon zu leihen ?

habe mal nachgeschaut: in der Tat beinhaltet die Box (heißt Tour-Box) einen Live-Mitschnitt vom Wilhelmstein-Konzert!!!
Die Box ist bei amazon für 109€ zu haben, bei ebay bietet sie auch einer an Stand heute 31€.
Ich brenne sie aber gerne für Dich!
